The Annual CLE Planning Committee organizes the annual CLE, including the selection of keynote and CLE speakers and arranging for publicity.

Awards and Nominating Committee
The Awards and Nominating Committee solicit nominations for recipients of the Jean Galloway Bissell award presented at the annual CLE, and nominates the slate for the upcoming year's Board of Directors. It also pursues recognition for SCWLA members through nominations for awards on a local, state and national level.

This committee is responsible for determining the need for, and drafting amendments to the bylaws.

Career Development Committee (mentor/mentee)
The goal of the Career Development Committee is to provide members with opportunities for professional development and networking. This Committee oversees the mentoring program in which law school students and recent graduates are paired with more experienced lawyers. It also, upon request, provides speakers for presentations and panels and ensures that women are adequately represented at speaking engagements. We look to expand the goals of this committee.

Community Outreach
The Community Outreach Committee plans and implements projects that focus on service, education and assistance to those outside the legal profession in hopes of improving their lives and the public's perception of attorneys.

Diversity Committee
The purpose of this committee is to work as a positive force with other committees to ensure that SCWLA is diverse in its function and program opportunities and to assist in seeing that our members and potential members are aware of our commitment to diversity. This committee will also act as a clearing house for concerns raised about the diversity of SCWLA. The initial purpose of this committee will be to create a mission statement including a definition of diversity and SCWLA's commitment to diversity.

Editorial Committee (also, Website and Listserv)
The Editorial Committee is responsible for developing and implementing written editorial policies and guidelines, assisting in advertising sales, and assistance to the editorial staff for the Briefcase. It is also responsible for assisting the editorial staff of www.scwla.org.

Education Committee
The Education Committee provides educational services to the membership, and its responsibilities include planning CLE's to complement the Annual CLE, planning the Supreme Court Trip, and the completion and marketing of our documentary.

Long Range Planning Committee
The Long Range Planning Committee was established to establish long term goals for the SCWLA dealing with membership, the organization's efforts in endorsing and promoting our members involvement in judicial and bar leadership positions, potential lobbying efforts, and participation in state and national arena dealing with similar women law associations. The immediate past and current president of SCWLA are standing members of this committee.
